Eva Washburn is a visual artist originally from Seattle, now based in San Francisco. She graduated from California College of the Arts in May of 2025, with a BFA in Illustration. Traditionally being trained in drawing and painting, her time at CCA shaped her practice as she was exposed to printmaking and textile arts, which show up across her current practice. Combining mixed media techniques is important to her process, and world building for conveying stories through the images she creates. Weaving and layering different materials together is integral to the visual experience of her work. 

Working with themes of femininity, cyclical patterns, memory, and journeys we cross paths on, Washburn’s work often resides in a soft, whimsical realm in between reality and fantasy. She aims to work through her own ideas of what creates purpose individually or collectively, and what propels us forward in the pursuit of joy and meaning. Using analog techniques is important to her process as it reflects the hands-on care that has been passed down and shared through generations in the name of storytelling, and keeping memory alive. Working with natural materials is another way she incorporates the delicacy and inevitable occurrence of patterns and of cycles in the human experience; both explainable and un-exaplainable. Every world is built with patience and intention, taking fragments of experiences from her own life, trying to bargain with them, and share with others.
